How to Sign “Muffin” in Sign Language

Did you know there are two main types of muffins: English muffins and American muffins. English muffins are flat, yeast-leavened breads that are typically toasted and served with butter or jam, while American muffins are sweet, cake-like treats that are often packed with fruits, nuts, or chocolate chips.

Signing “Muffin”

  1. Hand shape: Start with your dominant hand in an open “bent-5” handshape. Form your non-dominant into an “S” with your palm downard.
  2. Hand location: Bring your hands in front of your body at about chest level. Place your dominant hand-palm down onto your non-dominant hand.
  3. Movement: Tap your dominant hand against your non-dominant hand twice.
  4. Facial expression: Keep a neutral facial expression.
