How to Sign "Green" in Sign Language

Kermit may say, “It’s not easy being green.” But signing “green” is!

Signing “Green”

  1. Hand shape: Use the dominant hand in a “G” handshape, with the index finger and thumb extended and slightly apart.
  2. Hand location: Place the dominant hand in front of your face, palm facing inward.
  3. Movement: Shake your dominant hand back and forth.
  4. Facial expression: Maintain a neutral facial expression, focusing on clarity of hand movements.

Note

Many other colors are signed in a similar fashion, including “blue,” “yellow,” and “purple.”
