How to Sign “Cookie” in Sign Language

Imagine you're at a cozy family gathering or a friendly office break room, and someone brings out a plate of freshly baked treats. Knowing how to sign "cookie" in ASL can enhance these shared moments, making sure everyone can join in the enjoyment.

Signing “Cookie”

  1. Hand shape: Start with your dominant hand in an open “bent-5” handshape. Form your non-dominant into a “closed-5” with your palm upward.
  2. Hand location: Bring your hands in front of your body at about chest level. Place your dominant hand-palm down onto your non-dominant palm.
  3. Movement: Tap your dominant hand against your non-dominant palm once, then rotate and tap again, in one swift movement.
  4. Facial expression: Keep a neutral facial expression.
