How to Sign “Nervous” in Sign Language

The feeling of nervousness can be both thrilling and terrifying, as it activates the body's fight or flight response. Did you know that being nervous can actually improve your performance in certain situations?

Signing “Nervous”

  1. Hand shape: Start with your hands in a “5” handshape.
  2. Hand location: Bring your hands in front of your body at about chest level, palms face down.
  3. Movement: Shake both hands, as if showing how stressed your body is.
  4. Facial expression: Furrow your eyebrows and show your teeth with a nervous facial expression.
