How to Sign “Excited” in Sign Language

Being excited is like riding a rollercoaster of emotions, with each peak and dip bringing a rush of adrenaline and anticipation. Did you know that the feeling of excitement activates the same part of the brain as when we receive rewards?

Signing “Excited”

  1. Hand shape: Start with your hands in an “open-8” handshape, with your middle finger extended.
  2. Hand location: Bring your hands in front of your body at about chest level, palms facing the body.
  3. Movement: One at a time, sweep each hand upward.
  4. Facial expression: Raise your eyebrows and crack a smile to match the feeling of being excited.
